Athletes with disabilities

APPROVED EQUIPMENT
Athletes with disabilities are encouraged to participate at the 12 Hours of Road America. We do our best to ensure everybody and every body has the opportunity to race and raise money for myTEAM TRIUMPH.
Handcycles as well as mTT Approved push / pull behind trailers are OK to race with.
Please, no push rim wheelchairs on course.
CREW
Having a Support Crew is highly encouraged for all athletes competing with disabilities. Crews are allowed in the it area, on course (in designated areas) as well as in the hospitality areas in the race paddock.
It is especially recommended to place crew out on the course for your first lap, or have a crew member ride along next to you (crew member is not required to register) to ensure you can complete the course safely. There are a few hills with a steep grade going up, and fast downhill sections with turns shortly after. The natural terrain of a race track is designed to challenge race cars! So, this track, although fun, will challenge you!
FACILITIES
Parking at Road America is easy. We've created a designated parking are specifically for athletes with disabilities. Taking into account the distance to and from your vehicle / the paddock area. Athletes will have the opportunity to unload equipment near their camp site and park just a short distance away.
Entrance and Exit to and from the track is also taken into consideration. We have a separate section available for use that is an easy on and easy off for any rider unable to complete the final climb on the course. This separate entrance / exit is near the paddock area and is also a short distance from where you will be camping. All athletes with disabilities will be pitted (in pit lane) closest to this second entrance / exit.
Restrooms and Showers are available and easily accessible to everyone competing in the event. Handicap restrooms and handicap accessible showers are also available at anytime during the event.
mTT Support if for any reason you need additional help / support during the event, please visit the myTEAM TRIUMPH tent inside the race paddock and our energized volunteers will help you out!

If you have athletes who wish to guide you during the event. Please ensure first that you have registered and created your team name.
