Drivers, Start Your Engines!

America’s national park of speed was “all in” this weekend at the NTT INDYCAR Series and we had a front row seat!

Staff and volunteers from myTEAM TRIUMPH WI attended the first REV Group Grand Prix IndyCar race of the season at Road America to mission share and invite attendees to join us at 12 Hours of Road America.

The weekend started on Wednesday evening during Road America‘s 4 miles of fitness where riders and runners took to the pavement for some miles, lots of sun and laughs. It was awesome to see so many of you out there! Haven’t made it out for an open track ride yet? We will be there every Wednesday night from 5:30-8pm with refreshments. This is a family friendly environment. Admission is $5 per person.

Thursday morning came and little did we know that we would have a front row seat as the Indy drivers lined up to get on the track. In a matter of minutes, these guys were going to let loose in their first qualifying race of the weekend!

While we have been on this track a dozen times ourselves, watching these beastly machines hit the pavement seemed to breathe a new energy into the track. Our chests rattled and our ears filled as the cars wizzed by us in the first turn. It was enough to make you want to pull out a ‘Tim the Toolman’ grunt after they went by.

After brief weather emergency, racing started right back up on Thursday night and continued on throughout the weekend. One couldn’t help but notice that as the racing got faster, the crowds got larger.

By the time Saturday hit people were everywhere but, unlike most event venues, this 640 acre facility could handle the masses while maintaining social distancing recommendations. With temperature screenings at the gate, face mask requirements in closed buildings and additional hand sanitizing stations throughout, the staff at Road America was prepared to keep everyone in attendance as safe as possible.

The final day of racing came and so did our rockstar volunteers. Talking to attendees about our event, checking out the races and helping to tear down our booth - these guys and gals worked hard! A huge thank you to everyone that came out to Road America this weekend to help! We certainly can’t do this without you!

If you haven’t yet registered for 12 Hours of Road America, what are you waiting for!?! Let’s do this!

Upcoming Schedule:

  • Wednesday nights 5:30-8pm : 4 miles of Fitness

  • July 30- Aug 2: ISMA Sportscar Weekend

  • Aug 6-8: NASCAR XFINITY Series

See you on the track! -Karla
